“After 1st April 2017 anyone who buys alcohol to sell to the consumer, ie retailer, hotel, pub, restaurant, café or club (regardless of size), will be committing an offense if they purchase alcohol from any UK wholesaler or business which does not hold an AWRS number.” - http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/Drinks/Spirits-Cocktails/HMRC-AWRS-to-come-into-force-on-1-April

Don’t be caught out, HMRC are warning licensed premises that fines of up to £10,000 will be handed out to those sourcing stock from unapproved wholesalers who do not appear on their alcohol traders’ central register. From the 1st of April 17, action will be taken against those trading illegally.

Fortunately, we are proud to announce that we have been approved and now hold an AWRS number meaning that we are registered and certified to supply alcohol legally to licensees.

Swallow Goes to Curry King Of Birmingham

Another week has flown by, and we’re reminiscing about last Friday when we attended the fantastic Curry King of Birmingham event at the ICC. Congratulations are in order to LOVEBRUM for putting on a wonderful evening, and as proud patrons of the charity (& fellow curry-loving brummies’ of course) we were excited to be apart of the event.

In support of the charity we sponsored the drinks reception at the start of the evening, supplying our new pop-up prosecco bar and its safe to say the fizz went down a treat. The event had a number of generous sponsors including; Simkiss Guy Recruitment, H-J Wealth Planning and East End Foods. The night was a brilliant opportunity for the business’ of Birmingham.

It was fun-filled and packed with entertainment, from Bobby Davro and a luxury-prize auction followed by live music that got everyone on their feet. And not to forget the delicious, professionally-cooked Indian meal we happily indulged on. The evening boasted a unique entertainment feature where each table got to devise and name their own curry, this was then judged by a panel and the winning dish will appear on the menu of a popular Indian restaurant in the city.
(We placed in the top 10 but unfortunately lost out)

Most importantly the aim of this charity event was to show our support for LOVEBRUM.  A whopping £20,000 was raised from the evening - enough to fund 10 local projects. What a success!
